HISTORY

In December, 1985, Richard Golden and Bella Nomberg Golden created Golden Touch Catering, Inc. ("GTC"). On January 2, 1986, GTC purchased The Chafer Caterer, a full service catering business. For 15 years, we successfully catered some of Cincinnati's most talked about events and to some of its most prominent guests and personalities including:

  • Picnics for up to 5,000 guests
  • 2,000 guests at the grand opening of the Serpentine Wall, the grand openings for the Cincinnati Flower Shows at Ault Park and the grand opening of Forest Fair Mall
  • The Cincinnati Antique Festival at Music Hall
  • The filming of 4 movies
  • The Queen of Jordan and the Prince of Saudi Arabia
  • The Archbishop of Cincinnati and Archbishop Desmond Tutu
  • Governor Taft, Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Senator Elizabeth Dole, former Senator Bob Dole and Tipper Gore
  • Ray Bradbury, William F. Buckley, Jr. and Margaret Truman
  • The National Press Corp covering the Republican Presidential Campaign of 1996
  • Gregory Hines, Martha Stewart and Bill Cosby
  • Mohammed Ali, Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Boomer Esiason and Oscar Robertson
  • James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, and other singers and bands as Timberwolf's exclusive caterer for over 12 years

In 1993, GTC expanded into foodservice management and operations under the name GTC Foodservice.

In October 1996, GTC opened a retail and wholesale artisan bakery called GTC Bakehouse Bread & Provisions.

On June 30, 1999, GTC sold The Chafer Caterer so management could devote more time to foodservice operations and the company's bakery division.

In December, 2002, GTC changed its corporate name from Golden Touch Catering, Inc. to GTC Foodservice, Inc.
